Berlin Season 1: A Spanish Prequel of Money Heist

Highlights

“Berlin” depicts the title character’s experiences before the events of the first series, acting as a prequel and spin-off of Money Heist. The narrative delves into the past of Andres de Fonollosa, also referred to as Berlin, who is once again represented by Pedro Alonso in the original series.

Berlin Season-1 Plot

In his heyday, Berlin gathers a group in Paris for a nearly impossible diamond theft that involves 34 cities and 44 million euros in jewelry in a single night. Threatening to ruin the plot, Father Toureaux needs to be stopped by Roi and Cameron. In the meantime, love is in the air in the Catacombs and on the streets of Paris.

Berlin Season-1 Story

In this prequel, Pedro Alonso, who is back, plays a younger-looking Berlin who organizes a heist to steal priceless gems before of a much-anticipated auction. He schemes to get into a French auction house with the help of an experienced heist squad. Before this crime, Berlin, the ostensibly hopeless romantic with extreme narcissistic tendencies, had divorced his third wife. He is devastated. His problems are just as significant to the narrative since they highlight the compulsive nature of his romantic interests.

Berlin then attempts to court Camille (Samantha Siqueiros). Berlin also has Berlin’s goal, Polignac, her husband, as he is in charge of all the auction’s diamond delivery information. The main plot point is that Berlin’s actions give the impression that he is less intelligent. You do question why a man who can plan brilliant heists and exudes power, along with well-spoken rizz, would be so eager to take a chance on a robbery after witnessing a woman dance in her living room just once.

Berlin Season-1 Cast

Julio Peña Fernández, Begoña Vargas, Tristán Ulloa, Pedro Alonso, and Michelle Jenner are among its stars. Money Heist: Berlin garnered a mixed reception; many reviewers thought the film fell short of the caliber of the first Money Heist.

Berlin Season-1 Critics Reviews

This television program is truly remarkable! I recently discovered the endearing and gifted Spanish actor and writer Pedro Alonso through the Netflix series Money Heist, which introduced me to another exciting Netflix film. I had to see this movie because I’m a major fan of the actor, and I’m happy to report that it did not disappoint! It was so full of action, tension, and surprising turns that it transported viewers back to the excitement of those vintage heist films while adding a contemporary touch. I can’t wait for future productions with a cast as great as this one, particularly the one that performed in Berlin and Money Heist. This film is unquestionably a must-watch if you enjoy suspenseful action, thrills, and mystery!

Final Thoughts

Berlin is fun if you know what you’re looking for. You may expect more of the same Money Heist that you loved so much in the past. But the show fights in every episode to defend its survival, and there were times when I found it difficult to comprehend why we were still watching this guy. It seems meaningless, especially since we already know how he will finish. Nevertheless, there’s still enough suspense and outrageous moments to bring fans of the heist genre back to this universe.
