Kalki 2898 AD Rating and Review
The sentence “Kalki 2898 AD” seems far more logical than it is. In all honesty, there will be moments in this movie when you’ll want to just give up and go with the flow. or take pleasure in the rollercoaster. At least it appears as though every cent is visible on the screen, if this is indeed the most costly movie ever made in India, as reports have claimed.
The director Nag Ashwin combines stories from the Mahabharata with a dystopian science fiction scenario to create Kalki 2898 AD, an unexpected meeting place of the past and the future. He emphasises that heroes are made, not born. The story’s central figure, Ashwatthama, the oldest living person from the Kurukshetra War, was brilliantly portrayed by the unstoppable Amitabh Bachchan. He is matched up against Bhairava (Prabhas) in order to prepare the way for Kalki, Vishnu’s last avatar, to appear. The movie features moments that will astound you and takes enormous risks. Is Kalki 2898 AD a revolutionary? Yes, in terms of ambition. There are issues with writing and storytelling.
Story of Kalki 2898 AD
The movie is set in Kashi, which the legends say was the first city in the world. The city, which was once praised for its knowledge, divinity, and otherworldliness, has now devolved into a desolate, decaying tract of land. The “complex,” a massive futuristic structure built by Supreme Yaskin (Kamal Haasan, the major antagonist), the ruler of the new world, has drained all of Kashi’s life. He’s on a mission to find a woman who can carry a baby inside her for at least 150 days, and he knows that this is his destiny.
The movie takes place in the year 2898, when evil forces are taking over the planet and water is a valuable resource. Lord Kalki’s main objective is to bring justice and Dharma (moral and cosmic order) back, as well as to put an end to the current chaos and destruction. It is anticipated that Kalki would appear at a time when moral standards are slipping and corruption and wickedness are rampant in the globe. With his arrival, the Satya Yuga, a new age marked by virtue, honesty, and spiritual enlightenment, officially begins.
It might also be important to note that the computer visuals in the film constantly offer otherwise well-known sci-fi settings and clichés a sophisticated enough expression. Yes, the soldiers of the Complex resemble Mr. Roboto’s kinky nephews when they don their face-covering helmets and carry what appear to be 3-D printed water guns. The Complex’s spacecraft resemble the dried-up husks of the gonad aliens from Tobe Hooper’s “Invaders from Mars” remake. Even if Prabhas appears a little ridiculous wearing an ocular visor in the Geordi La Forge style, he nevertheless manages to turn into the antihero that this ridiculous-looking tentpole raiser requires.
