Kudos to Kunal for directing his first feature film and doing it off with style. His script is full of funny one-liners, repartees, and situations, and it’s hilarious. Hardly any jokes are unintentionally funny. The return of physical humor to Bollywood mainstream is a joyful sight, as it continues to tickle our funny bones. Madgaon Express has a run time of two hours and twenty-five minutes, yet the story hardly slows down, keeping you engrossed the entire turbulent and dizzying voyage. The film has won the hearts with a 3.5 rating.

School pals Dhanush, also known as Dodo (Divyenndu), Pratik, also known as Pinku (Pratik Gandhi), and Ayush (Avinash Tiwary). They’ve dreamed of visiting Goa, just like every other boy trio in the nation. It’s not what they expected, even after years of passing high school and college. Taxi drivers charge more to visit Bagha Beach than it would cost to take the Mumbai – Goa train.
After a hazy night of drinking, the only activity they receive is from escorts demanding the remaining balance. What’s worse (or better?) is that Pinky is bashed into a bed box that contained cocaine during a pointless fight. He gets to his feet, speaking with a funny lisp and looking as white as a flour mill worker.
The cocaine disappears quickly. The boys are soon on the run as the cocaine disappears. Besides the police, Mendoza—the aforementioned don, played with pleasure by Upendra Limaye—and Kanchan Kombdi, a rival gangster couple, are after them (the superb Chhaya Kadam). Add numerous hilarious scenarios and clever one-liners, and you have a nonstop, enjoyable caper.

Pratik Gandhi is well-known for his serious theatre work, but this movie shows off his flexibility. His performance, versatility, and especially his physical comedy skills make him the unexpected gem. Regarding Divyenndu, the actor manages to win your heart even though he plays the stereotypical “mischievous friend” with perfect comic timing. Divyenndu fully embraces Dodo and lifts the movie on his strong shoulders.
Although Avinash Tiwary has always received appreciation for his performances, in “Madgaon Express,” you get to see him transform into a classic “Bollywood hero.” He is such an easygoing performer, and he has a great screen presence. He also looks great. The scene where he talks about how the internet provides rapid pleasure and this generation’s failed attempts at finding love.

Madgaon Express is the movie for you if you want to laugh aloud and truly enjoy yourself with your pals at the movies. It revels in the chaos and craziness of itself. Relax and allow this exhilarating experience to consume you. You won’t be sorry. Films like these aren’t produced all that often. You also wouldn’t want to miss seeing Pratik and Divyenndu perform while dressed in sarees, unintentionally shattering stereotypes of Bollywood’s leading men. Regarding Kunal, we eagerly anticipate his upcoming creations.

While Madgaon Express has some hilarious moments, there are moments when it seems a bit strained. Its weak point is the crime angle. It will carry out relatively routine tasks. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, a portion of the market for indie films with tiny casts has shifted to over-the-top (OTT) platforms. These consumers would much rather view content on OTT after a few weeks rather than at theatres.
A lot of the jokes end in a clunk. A song’s line about not having any fun attempts to spice up a scene when the bad guys are sleeping and the good men are trying to get away. It might have served as a summary of the entire movie.

The movie is full of bizarre scenarios that follow one another. When we first meet the trio’s child avatars, they are clumsy teenagers who are terrible dancers, terrible conversationalists and act immaturely. They are still as immature and awkward as ever, even in their 30s, and nothing appears to have changed in the years that have passed. They demonstrate their incapacity to handle situations responsibly in the final battle scene when they wreck a car while intoxicated and in their encounters with several groups of thugs. You chuckle at how ridiculous it all is and take in a string of mishaps.
