Crew 2024 Review: Story of Three Women Juggling between Relationship, Ethics and Money

Highlights

Heading Kohinoor Airlines, which is led by Vijay Walia (Saswata Chatterjee), are air hostesses Jasmine Kohli (Kareena Kapoor), Geeta Sethi (Tabu), and Divya Rana (Kriti Sanon). For a few months now, Kohinoor Airlines employees have not received their salaries. The HR officer, Rajesh Sharma, gives the impression to the staff that everything is going well at the company and that pay is on the way.

As soon as Jasmine, Geeta, and Divya discover that Kohinoor Airlines is experiencing financial difficulties, they decide to take an unlawful route to get the money they need. What’s that? Were they apprehended? What ultimately happened to Kohinoor Airlines? This is the main plot point.

Plot

Despite its bubbly façade, Crew offers an interesting perspective on the upper middle class and their relationship with money, ethics, and a lifelong career that enslaves them. They are caught in the crossfire between needs, wants, and morality. Geeta tells herself, “Adarshon se bill nahi bharte.”

Crew 2024 Rating and Release Date

The crew 2024 rating is 3.8 and the release date was March 29, 2024.

Crew 2024 Story

Karisma Sanon’s Divya Rana, Geeta Sethi (Tabu), and Jasmine Bajwa (Kareena Kapoor Khan) are among the crew members of Kohinoor Airlines, a barely disguised version of the now-defunct real-life Kingfisher Airlines, whose chairman (Saswata Chatterjee) is an even more subtly disguised version of the ‘bhagoda’ billionaire Vijay Mallya. The writers of the movie, Nidhi Mehra and Mehul Suri, don’t really care to hide anything; they just label their character, Vijay Walia, who runs away and files for bankruptcy, leaving thousands of workers in the dark.

Crew 2024 Director

The comedy directed by Rajesh Krishnan honors the strength of women. It entertains you while also getting you to think. It’s in the category of feel-good films where the characters, even when they’re in trouble, have jaw-dropping wealth. Director Rajesh Krishnan uses the year’s best casting coup to highlight upper middle-class hijinks and feed the aspirations of the Instagram generation with controlled emotions.

The light-hearted performer, who switches between risque and risque, is eager to illustrate that modern ladies are just as capable of drinking and complaining as wealthy lads. Following a string of rather masculine aerial exploits, this time it’s the girls who are decked up to steal the show.

Crew 2024 Cast

Tabu portrays Geeta Sethi, a former Miss Karnal who is content in her marriage but worries about rising debt defaults and unpaid salary all day long. Jasmine Kohli, played by Kareena Kapoor, was reared by her maternal grandfather, Kulbhushan Kharbhanda. The driven woman hopes to start her own beauty goods firm even though she is having trouble making ends meet. “Always have a Plan B,” is her motto.

Divya Rana, played by Kriti Sanon, is from a small town in Haryana with an abandoned airport. Despite having pilot training, she was forced to take a position as a cabin crew member due to the aviation sector crisis. She keeps the information from her parents for fear of breaking their hearts.

Crew Movie Review: The Last Words

All things considered, Crew is a hilarious and captivating heist comedy that transports you on an amusing adventure. The quips land smoothly, keeping you interested from beginning to end, much like the movie’s flights land smoothly. With their outstanding performances, Tabu, Kareena, and Kriti dazzle you with their lighthearted chemistry. After all, you’ll support them because our girls are simply trying to have fun!

See the movie for its heartfelt message celebrating female friendships and for its belly laughter. And speaking of which, Tabu, Kareena Kapoor, and Kriti Sanon all have impressive acting skills.

“Crew” stands out because it defies common assumptions, especially those related to age. The movie highlights the leading females’ individuality and agency, showing their path of self-empowerment and rediscovery, rather than assigning them token roles. Particularly Tabu and Kareena Kapoor Khan shine as they gracefully and with composure negotiate the complications of life, love, and friendship.
