“Chatrapathi” is a 2023 film from the big and colorful world of Hindi movies. V. V. Vinayak, a skilled director, was at its helm, while Jayantilal Gada, a known producer, funded the project. They made the film under the Pen India Limited banner. The movie is special because it is a new version of a very popular 2005 Telugu movie, which has the same name. A new actor, Bellamkonda Sreenivas, made his first appearance in Hindi films through this movie. He played the main role. Alongside him, there were many talented actors and actresses like Nushrat Bharucha, Bhagyashree, Freddy Daruwala, Sharad Kelkar, Rajendra Gupta, Karan Singh Chhabra, and Rajesh Sharma.

The film “Chatrapathi” was released on 12 May 2023. Unfortunately, many of the movie critics didn’t give it good reviews. Because the reviews weren’t great, fewer people decided to watch it in theaters, which meant it didn’t earn much money.

Now, let’s go deeper into the plot. The story revolves around a courageous man called Shivaji. His early life was tough as he was a refugee, but Parvati, a kind woman, adopted him. A significant chapter in Shivaji’s life is his search to find his real mother. The sad reason behind their separation is his brother, Ashok, who is actually Parvati’s biological son. The backdrop of this separation was set in Pakistan.

As Shivaji searches for his mother, he meets Sapna. She becomes a big support to him in his mission and eventually, they both develop feelings for each other. But things aren’t smooth for Shivaji. He faces troubles from two villains named Bhairav and Bhavani. They were responsible for hurting other refugees, much like Shivaji. As Shivaji stands up against these antagonists, people begin to admire and respect him, eventually giving him the title “Chatrapathi.”

The plot gets even more interesting when Ashok discovers that Shivaji is not dead. Wanting to settle old scores, Ashok joins forces with Shivaji’s foes. However, Shivaji, being the hero that he is, confronts and defeats them all. 

The climax is emotional when Ashok realizes the immense sacrifices Shivaji made, especially for a woman named Savitri. Overcome with guilt, Ashok apologizes, and the story concludes with everyone coming together as one big happy family.
