Phone Bhoot (2022) Movie Plot:

Directed by Gurmmeet Singh and produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani under Excel Entertainment, this Indian Hindi supernatural comedy sees Katrina Kaif, Ishaan Khattar, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Jackie Shroff in the lead roles. Despite its mixed reception from critics upon its 4 November 2022 release, the movie’s unique plot has garnered attention.

In a world where unemployment prevails, Major and Gullu dream big – of becoming exorcists. Their trusted statue confidante, Raaka, is at the center of their hopes. However, an electrifying accident thrusts them into the afterlife where they cross paths with Ragini, a kind-hearted ghost. With a proposition in hand, she offers them a ticket to riches if they help tormented souls attain salvation by bringing their wrongdoers to justice. This leads to the inception of the “Phone Bhoot” venture, which gains massive traction.

However, their success isn’t without adversaries. Atmaram, a malevolent sorcerer, is envious of their thriving business. As dark secrets unravel, it’s revealed that Ragini was once deeply connected to Raja Dushyant Singh, and Atmaram’s wickedness is responsible for their tragic end. A pivotal confrontation sees Atmaram capturing a weakened Ragini. Major and Gullu, upon learning of Ragini’s personal vendetta, feel duped.

The plot thickens as they’re approached by another ghostly ally they once assisted, urging them to rescue numerous souls, including Raja Dushyant’s, from Atmaram’s nefarious collection. Joining forces with their once-inanimate friend, Raaka, and several other spirits they’ve aided, the duo valiantly challenges Atmaram. In a climactic battle, they emerge victorious, casting Atmaram to hell’s abyss.

The ethereal reunion of Ragini and Dushyant promises a continued guardian angel presence for our protagonists. As the credits roll, the audience is left tantalized with the potential for a sequel.
