It features a dining room, a large chocolate fountain, a garden, a gym, and colorful macaroons for its extravagant events.
All of its clients are wealthy, ostentatious English speakers who congregate for Tambola night and cards because they have nothing better to do. One morning, a valued staff member at the club named Leo Mathews (played by a likably shady Aashim Gulati) ends up dead. What appears to be a bizarre gym mishap is quickly revealed to be premeditated murder.

The body of club fitness instructor Leo Matthews is discovered in the gym shortly after the movie opens, prompting Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Bhavani Singh and sub-inspector Padam Kumar to look into the murder while revealing the true identities of several club members.
ACP Bhavani seemed to unearth one nasty story after another, including drug addictions, a blackmailing scandal, and club members who lived the ultra-wealthy life simply as a façade.
As Bhavani searches for the real murderer, the situation becomes increasingly dire as two more people and a cat perish after Leo’s death.
Bhavani finds out that Guppie, one of the other murder victims, once attempted to melt the bones of a skeleton that was considered to be watering plants beneath a garden. Others at the club initially speculate that it might be Ajay Kumar, Ganga’s missing husband, who abused Ganga and supplied drugs to the establishment; however, Padam subsequently discovers him to be alive.
After the DNA reports are returned, Bhavani finds out the skeleton belongs to Anshul, who was married to Bambi, one of the club’s most obviously wealthy members.
Bhavani makes an initial attempt to blame Yash for all three killings, claiming that Yash killed Anshul because he was envious of his being with Bambi and had covertly recorded films of Bambi in the past.
Since Bambi is hauled away by police authorities after giving in to her loss, using this made-up story aids in exposing her as the real murderer behind the killings.

Inspired by Agatha Christie’s Hercules Poirot, Pankaj Tripathi’s character employs his signature manner to lead this little uneven whodunit. Although the actor makes a concerted effort to set his persona apart from his previous work, there is still a hint of repetition. It can be annoying to watch him act so composed and easygoing around a group of annoying, snobby uptowners who have an unhealthy obsession with clubs.
Sara Ali Khan has a stunning appearance and is a wonderful fit for the role of Bambi Todi, the silly yet attractive young lady. Her and Vijay Varma’s chemistry feels a little fake. For his character, the enigmatic Aakash Dogra, Varma doesn’t have much to work with.
As the former B-grade actress Shehnaz Noorani, Karisma Kapoor makes a respectable comeback and manages to stand out amidst a rabble of boisterous and ridiculous characters. As the aggressive upper-class Delhite Roshni Batra, Tisca Chopra goes overboard. Dimple Kapadia is a vibrant, wealthy lady Though Sanjay Kapoor is a cheapskate royal Hukum, Cookie Katoch is still good. What a clown Rannvijay Singh is.
Of all of them, he is by far the most entertaining. Adajania skillfully balances each character, ensuring they have enough screen time and growth, even when many characters threaten to overpower the main plotline. Even with only a few songs, the movie ends up being longer than expected.

The crisp narrative that is filled with dark humor keeps the audience interested. Incorporating social commentary into the storyline highlights the gaps that exist beneath the supposedly flawless exterior of upper society, giving the plot a deeper level of complexity. The longer length, if overly long, permits a more thorough examination of the motivations and backgrounds of the characters. As we get more concerned about the lives of individuals entangled in the murder’s web, this richer character development enhances the whole experience.
The performances are inconsistent. Karisma Kapoor excels as a broken-hearted actress with secrets in her comeback to the big screen. With Pankaj Tripathi lending his characteristic affability and Sanjay Kapoor portraying a haughty raja, the rest of the cast also contributes to their charm. Vijay Verma and Sara Ali Khan Varma also deliver nuanced performances, giving complex characters a sense of life.
Final Thoughts
Linesh Desai’s cinematography is excellent; it effectively conveys the spirit of the narrative. As the mystery is revealed, the background music heightens the tension and suspense in a way that perfectly matches the story. The screenplay, adapted from Anuja Chauhan’s book Club You To Death, struggles to keep its coherence amid the complex story twists and occasionally feels jumbled.
A twenty-minute cut might have been beneficial for the movie. Murder Mubarak is still a compelling and enjoyable movie from beginning to end, nevertheless, thanks to the outstanding performances of the full ensemble cast.
