Gumraah (2023) Movie Plot:
“Gumraah” (meaning “Lost” or “Astray”) is a popular 2023 Indian film in Hindi, which has thrilled people globally. Directed by Vardhan Ketkar, it was produced by big names like T-Series Films and Cine1 Studios by Murad Khetani. The movie has famous actors like Aditya Roy Kapur playing two roles, Mrunal Thakur, and the experienced Ronit Roy. This movie is based on a 2019 Tamil movie called “Thadam.” It’s about a fascinating murder case with two very similar-looking suspects.
They began making “Gumraah” in October 2021, during the Dussehra festival. This was the start of a big journey in the Indian film industry. After putting in lots of effort and time, they finished filming on 16th July 2022. Everyone was looking forward to its release.
People were waiting eagerly for the movie, and it was released on 7th April 2023. It created a lot of interest among cinema lovers. The movie was praised for its action scenes and attention to detail. But, even with the good reviews, not many people went to watch it, and it didn’t make a lot of money at the box office.
In the beginning, someone in a yellow raincoat goes into a house. There’s a short, intense fight, and sadly, the person living in the house is killed. The killed person’s name is Akash Sardana. This event starts a big murder investigation.
Shivani Mathur, a smart young police officer, leads the investigation. Akash’s sister says he took a lot of money, 2 million rupees, from their bank, but they can’t find it. A neighbor says the killer took a selfie at the crime place by mistake.
The main officer, ACP Dhiren Yadav, thinks Arjun Sehgal did the murder and wants to catch him. Shivani starts looking into Arjun’s life, and they find a lot of evidence against him, so they arrest him. But, Arjun has a weak reason for where he was during the murder, which makes Yadav think the case will end soon.
Then, the story changes. A policeman catches a man named Sooraj for driving drunk. Sooraj looks just like Arjun, which confuses the case. Yadav talks to his lawyer friend, who thinks both Arjun and Sooraj will get out of jail easily. Now, the police only have two days to find the evidence they need to prove who the real killer is.
